The Alexander City Schools Career Tech Department provides hands-on learning and real-world experiences that prepare students for success after graduation. From agriculture and computer science to health care, marketing, and more, students can explore a wide range of career pathways while still in high school. Each program is led by experienced instructors who guide students through practical activities and career-focused coursework.

Whether a student dreams of working with animals, teaching children, designing computer systems, or serving in the military, Career Tech offers an early advantage. These programs also help students develop essential life and workplace skills—including teamwork, problem-solving, and communication—that will benefit them long after they leave the classroom.

BRHS Career Tech Programs

The Marketing cluster prepares high school students for careers in marketing, advertising, and sales. Through rigorous instruction, students develop essential skills in communication, research, branding, and digital marketing. This program equips learners with practical knowledge and real-world experience, helping them become college and career ready for a variety of dynamic roles in the fast-evolving marketing industry.

This career cluster prepares high school students with essential skills for success in Cybersecurity, IT Support, and Computer Science. Students gain hands-on experience with technology systems, networks, troubleshooting, and digital security. The program builds a strong foundation for both college and career pathways, helping students develop problem-solving abilities and technical knowledge to thrive in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world.

The Education and Training cluster focuses on preparing the next generation of educators and leaders in learning. Students explore a variety of careers in teaching, counseling, administration, and more. Courses provide insight into educational systems, child development, and instructional practices, giving students real-world experience and a strong foundation for pursuing careers that make a lasting impact in schools and communities.



The Hospitality and Tourism cluster prepares students for careers in the fast-paced hospitality industry. Through hands-on learning, students develop essential skills in organization, teamwork, time management, problem solving, creativity, and customer service. Whether exploring event planning, hotel management, or culinary arts, this program builds a strong foundation for success in a variety of customer-focused and service-oriented career paths.

The Health Science cluster equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for careers in the medical and healthcare fields. Courses offer a hands-on approach, allowing students to explore areas such as patient care, medical technology, and health services. Agriscience education at Alexander City Schools helps students explore careers in agriculture, food, fiber, and natural resources. The Manufacturing cluster equips students with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed for careers in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, electronics, precision machining, and robotics. The Naval Junior ROTC cluster motivates high school students by teaching the values of citizenship, leadership, community service, and personal responsibility.
